Rent a motorboat for excursions or fishing
Slow boats (2-5 hp) are best suited to fishing or excursions in the nearby waters. We require renters to have experience operating a motorboat. For novices, we recommend our course Learn to operate a motorboat.
We also recommend the Archipelago Boater course or an international yacht driver’s licence.
Fast boats only for experienced boaters
Our fast boats – Vilmari, Faster, Buster and Kala-Kaveri – are only rented out to highly experienced and careful boaters, who are familiar with navigation and have operated similar boats.
Boaters should stay in the fairways in the rocky waters of Lake Saimaa, unless they are coming ashore. Special care should be taken when fishing.
Vilmari and Faster are not rented out for fishing without a guide. It is strictly forbidden to operate a boat while intoxicated. If we notice that this rule is violated, we will cancel the rental agreement immediately.
Rental agreement and boat inspection
Before the boat is rented out, we will make a rental agreement. The renter will be asked to pay a deposit, which is equal to the deductible in the boat insurance policy. The deposit will be refunded when the boat is returned undamaged and tidy.
We will inspect the boat and motor together with the customer before and after the boat is rented out. We charge €15 for minor scratches. If the boat is not cleaned, we will charge €30 cleaning fee.
Vilmari is stable and fast cabin boat that can take you from one end of Lake Saimaa to the other.
Vilmari is only rented out to highly experienced and careful boaters, who are familiar with navigation and have operated similar boats.
The minimum requirements are the Archipelago Boater course or an international yacht driver’s licence. We will check your qualifications before we hand over the keys. If you have neither of these qualifications, we cannot hand over the boat.
Nestorinranta also uses Vilmari for cruises, transporting bikes and water taxi operations, so Vilmari is rented out less than the other boats.
